Solidarity sponsorship of companies

The collaboration with companies is realized through the program “Sponsorship of Jovent solidarity initiatives “; It is an action that has been supported by numerous companies in Mallorca since 2008 to develop initiatives of a social nature for children, youth and the community with the entities that form the l’Associació Jovent. The program is based on the implication of “being a godfather or godmother of …”, getting involved beyond an economic endowment or patronage, and promoting a specific project with which the businessman or businesswoman is personally identified. Currently the projects have to do with three big issues; childhood, youth and community development. The projects to sponsor are:

  • “No child without summer” project: Helps for children of families in the neighborhood of Sa Indioteria with economic shortcomings to go to camps or to summer school.
  • “Todos juntos en la Granja Escuela” project: Scholarships that allow between 200 and 300 students with financial difficulties from schools in Palma to access the Granja Escola programs just as they do with their classmates.
  • “Educar a los jóvenes en el esfuerzo y la solidaridad” project: Each year, between 20 and 40 young people work on supportive projects for the neighbors and the improvement of the sa Indioteria neighbourhood’s gardens and squares. In return, they receive financial help that, later, they share with other children so that they can carry out socio-educational activities, camps, etc.
  • “Sa Midoneria. Casal de barri Jovent” project: A great project in a social and educational center that offers activities to vulnerable children and families. Among other projects, we work with help groups for parents, food and clothing banks, school reinforcement, work guidance, workshops, the summer pool, seminars and courses, etc.
